Description

Croydon North is a parliamentary constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, covering the north west of the London Borough of Croydon. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. The current Member of Parliament is Malcolm Wicks of the Labour Party, who has one of the largest Labour majorities in London, despite being the first ever Labour MP for the area. The seat was created at the 1997 general election from the former Croydon North West and part of the former Croydon North East constituencies. There had previously been a Croydon North constituency from 1918 until 1955.
