It is known informally as the town of the Channel Tunnel. The town comprises a shopping centre (Cité Europe), a centre hotellier with an Ibis, an Etap and a Suitehotel, a farm in vieille Coquelles (old Coquelles), part of the L'Européene autoroute (A16) and the Channel Tunnel terminal. A short distance away, near the modern settlement, but also within sight of the older centre of Vieux Coquelles, with the ruins of its church tower, is a Holiday Inn. Opposite this is the Old Mill, from which the hotel restaurant "Le Vieux Moulin" takes its name.
Eurotunnel Terminal
For main article, see Eurotunnel. The Eurotunnel terminal is located in Coquelles of the A16, exit 42. This is the terminus of shuttle services from the UK, as well as the terminus of the LGV Nord, whereby Eurostar services can travel into the Channel Tunnel.
