Geography

Medebach is situated approx. 15 km east of Winterberg, 17 km south-west of Korbach and 45 km north of Marburg.

History

The town was first mentioned in a document in 1144. It belonged to the Hanseatic League. Medebach/Oberschledorn entered the international news in September 2007, when three Islamic terrorists, two Germans and a Turk, were arrested there.
