Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.5 km²), all of it land.

Name

Peetz Colorado received its name from a man who worked on the railroad trains that passed through the area. The area, having no name, was given the last name of the man that worked there at the time. The town was originally named Mercer.
