The average household size was 2.13 and the average family size was 2.77. In the town the population was spread out with 21.4% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 24.3% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 26.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 females there were 71.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 68.9 males. The median income for a household in the town was $27,379, and the median income for a family was $32,708. Males had a median income of $30,700 versus $22,100 for females. Millsboro is a town in Sussex County, Delaware, United States. The population was 2,360 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Seaford, Delaware Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Geography
Millsboro is located at 38°35′21″N 75°17′33″W / 38.58917°N 75.2925°W / 38.58917; -75.2925 (38.589170, -75.292415)[1]. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.9 square miles (5.0 km²), of which, 1.7 square miles (4.5 km²) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.5 km²) of it (10.82%) is water.

On July 21, 1930, the temperature in Millsboro rose to 110°F (43°C), the highest temperature ever recorded in Delaware. However, on January 17, 1893, the temperature fell to -17°F (-27°C), the coldest temperature ever seen in Delaware. Thus, it is only one of two cities in the United States to record both its state's extreme temperatures. The other city is Warsaw, Missouri.
