The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.49% White, 0.93% African American, 0.34% Native American, 0.48% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.81% from other races, and 0.89% from two or more races. The average household size was 2.03 and the average family size was 2.47. In the CDP the population was spread out with 12.9% under the age of 18, 3.7% from 18 to 24, 16.7% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 42.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 60 years. For every 100 females there were 90.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.3 males. North Fort Myers is located at 26°42′11″N 81°53′4″W / 26.70306°N 81.88444°W / 26.70306; -81.88444 (26.702918, -81.884360).[3] According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 54.6 square miles (141.4 km²), of which, 52.6 square miles (136.3 km²) of it is land and 2.0 square miles (5.1 km²) of it (3.61%) is water.
