North Baltimore is a village in Wood County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,361 at the 2000 census. North Baltimore is south of Toledo.

Geography

North Baltimore is located at 41°10′55″N 83°40′28″W / 41.18194°N 83.67444°W / 41.18194; -83.67444 (41.181978, -83.674409)[3]. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.8 km²), of which, 2.2 square miles (5.7 km²) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km²) of it (1.33%) is water. The village is west of Interstate 75 on State Highway 18 (West State Street/South Main Street). North Baltimore is just south of Bowling Green.

History

The community was founded in 1860, and early success was based on railroads and oil. The village was incorporated in 1870. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, North Baltimore drew large crowds by hosting outdoor weekend concerts at "The Park." The Woodstock-style concerts brought in artists such as Ike and Tina Turner, the Velvet Underground, Chuck Berry and Canned Heat.
