Education
The Olmsted Falls school system educates students from Olmsted Falls, parts of Columbia Station, part of Berea, and from neighboring Olmsted Township. There are four schools in the school system, Falls-Lenox Primary School, Fitch Intermediate School, Olmsted Falls Middle School, and Olmsted Falls High School. The school colors are blue and gold, and their mascot is a bulldog. The Bulldog football team won the 2000 Ohio High School Athletic Association State Championship by beating Piqua 21-0 at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in Massillon, OH. Also, the Bulldog basketball team has won the SWC conference championship the from 1995-2008, excluding 2006. This year, the Bulldog volleyball team went undefeated and obtained victory as state champions. History
In 1795, 49 investors formed a syndicate to purchase a major part of the Western Reserve from the U.S. state of Connecticut. One of these investors, Aaron Olmstead, became the owner of thousands of acres from his $30,000 share of the $120,000 total land deal. His land encompassed the areas now known as North Olmsted, Ohio, Olmsted Falls, Ohio and Olmsted Township (originally known as Lenox).
