There were 340 households out of which 21.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 37.6% were married couples living together, 17.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 41.2% were non-families. 37.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 23.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.18 and the average family size was 2.89. In the town the population was spread out with 20.6% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 22.4% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 24.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 45 years. For every 100 females there were 77.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 71.7 males. The median income for a household in the town was $22,574, and the median income for a family was $35,380. Males had a median income of $26,838 versus $21,641 for females. The per capita income for the town was $21,711. About 12.3% of families and 21.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 33.3% of those under age 18 and 14.6% of those age 65 or over.

* Seth Clossman: Graduated from Calhoun Academy (2005) and is currently attending Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. Clossman is the lead guitarist for the band Six:Giving at Lifeway Church in York, S.C. Clossman and Six:Giving played for a 13,000+ audience at Carowinds in July 2007. Clossman and Six:Giving will play at Carowinds again on July 20, 2008. * Robert E. Holman, M.D., a retired physician who continues to make house calls and offer free medical services to the patients in the Elloree, S.C. area. Holman served in World War II and attended classes at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C. beginning in 1946. After a serious illness interrupted his collegiate career, Holman returned and graduated with the class of 1953. He went on to graduate from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in 1957, where he also met his wife, Patrica Allen from Auburn, Ala. In 1996, Hollman wrote and self-published a book, "The Black Bag" which told of his life as a country doctor, a "thank you" and salute to the people he served. Holman featured in an item broadcast on Broadcasting House (radio programme) on BBC Radio 4 on Sunday 27 January 2008 which looked at the 2008 Presidential race through the eyes of the residents of Elloree.

Elloree is located at 33°31′56″N 80°34′19″W / 33.53222°N 80.57194°W / 33.53222; -80.57194 (33.532114, -80.571847)[3]. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.0 square miles (2.5 km²), all of it land.
